Write For Us

If you are considering composing new material for saxophone ensemble, we are more than willing to provide you with an opportunity to run-through your music with the National Saxophone Choir in our Composers' Forum.

However, before you contact us, please could you ask yourself whether your work is challenging and well-crafted, and is it likely to satisfy competent (Grade 8+), discerning players as well as audiences?

You will also need to provide multiple parts for sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor, baritone and bass saxophones, as unfortunately we are unable to provide copying services.

The standard line up of saxes is preferably as follows, although other formats will be considered:

  • Sopranino, 3 Soprano, 3 Alto, 3 Tenor, 3 Baritone, Bass

Note, we now also have access to Soprillo and Tubax and often welcome additional percussion and an expanded middle ensemble (additional alto and tenor tutti sections). If in doubt, contact us to discuss your proposed instrumentation.

We hope these simple guidelines will help everyone get maximum enjoyment out of the "experimental" slot. We look forward to hearing from you!
