The NSC would like to thank all entrants for the great deal of time and skill that went in to crafting all seven substantial works.

  • Don't Stop Grooving, Ulrich Schultheiss
  • Saxamaphones, Justin Tokke
  • Sax Fest, Maria Ackroyd
  • Top Jazz with Dr Goodtime, Jon Halton

About The Competition

The aim of competition was to find a significant new work for presentation by the NSC's lively and innovative ensemble of 40 players. The winning score will be premiered by the NSC at the World Saxophone Congress on 8th July 2006 in Slovenia and will be included in other major appearances later in the year.

In addition, a 'standard' sax ensemble version of the winning score will be published by Saxtet Publications.
