All players who want to join the choir will be expected to do a full audition. Auditions to join the choir are a bit more thorough than the annual ones, although they are intended to be relaxed and informal. You will be asked to play the following:

• Balletico, by Nigel Wood. It is No.19 in the Sax Scorchers study book. You can buy and download this study separately online or purchase the whole study book online from Saxtet Publications.
• Audition extracts. Excerpts from current repertoire for 2007 are now available below for all saxes and must be played from memory:
  • Bolero Extracts
  • Shetland Sequence Extracts
• In addition, you may be asked to play from the following extracts:
  • 2006 Audition Extracts
• Sight-reading, approximately Grade 8 standard.

Anyone auditioning for the NSE only, is not required to play the Bolero and Shetland Sequence Extracts.
